How does each service you provide differ from the way you approach each project?

Regardless of which service provided we approach each project with a Discovery. This where we meet with you to get to know one another, particularly your company and what it is you wish to achieve. Plenty of ideas will be generated, this is encouraged so weather your required service is for Video, Photography, Web design or Branding we apply the same approach to each Discovery. This introduction and process allows us to gather the correct information for research and analysis to put forth solutions with effective strategies and target clear objectives .

I’m in need of a video but I don’t know where or how to begin the process?

First thing you can do is not to stress or worry, we’ll put you at ease and make the video production process an enjoyable and educational one as it should be. You probably have a great idea or concept at this point and only need to create a general outline for us to begin. This outline starts the process of identifying your message then we provide you with the information of the logistics associated with the production and how much it will cost. We analyse the scope of the project to determine what is require such as: visual effects, time lapse photography, stop motion, hire extra crew or equipment and the type of sound mixing or audio to be engineered.

We are a young creative team with an intimate comprehension of the products we use and are consistently aware of the ever-changing landscape of video production. What is your collaboration process when working on video productions?


At Bangshock we regard the collaborative process we build with our clients as a true value partnership. Our commitment to you is to form a cohesive relationship to develop innovative projects. These video projects will involve building or enhancing your brand or identity by creating an effective strategy that defines your vision and targets clear objectives that captivate and engage your audience.

We typically take every video project through a five stage development process.
1. Discovery – The initial meeting with the client that involves information gathering, research and understanding of goals and objectives. A general script or outline is provided by the client. What is the purpose of your video; do you need an event, training, visual effects or promotional video, etc?

2. First Draft of the script is presented; edits are made and the script is structured to the clients approval for Final Draft, before video production.

3. Production; Shooting begins, clients are encouraged to attend and not only observe but to contribute suggestions if needed and be assured the shoot is staying true to form of the Final Draft.

4. Post Production; Consists of a Rough Edit Version of the first cut in an almost completed format showcasing the original conception minus color correction, sound mixing, audio (and visual graphics if necessary). At this stage of the video, it is shown to the client for approval of direction and any required edits can take place to stay true to script.

5. Final Cut; The video is presented in its complete and final version ready for output and use.

What type of video and photography services do you offer & can I customized my options?


BANGSHOCK offers a variety of specialized services in video production and photography assignments and yes we include packages with customizable options.

Certain video productions and photography assignments differ from each other and depend on what your needs are. For example if you are requesting coverage of an Event such as a Wedding, Gala or Trade Show we have different photography and video packages to suit your budget and needs including customization. Some events or productions can be small in scope and time required to capture footage or images, we can better accommodate your requirements by conducting a consultation to decide which package suits your project.

By doing so we can then determine the logistics of the production such as: single or multiple camera operators, a crew and exactly what the correct professional video and lighting equipment we need to get the job done properly and efficiently. From here we need to know the extent of the project before we take it into post-production, how much and if any: graphics, visual effects and editing footage or images come into play.

For Event Photography we offer a Moving Image Showcase service:
A Moving Image Showcase is a captivating selection of edited video. It combines the intent of the maker with the experience of the viewer and of the subject. It is a frozen moment, open to interpretation. Still images are compelling, in part, because they allow us the opportunity to participate in them.

A Fusion with an assortment of photography stills, audio, video and visual effects.
With the emphasis on still photography, we combine the audio of the event with clips of moving pictures, to tell the whole story.

What determines the price of a Video Production or Photography Project?


This is all based on what your goals are for the video or photography assignment which provides us with the details we need to assess your project and quote. There is a difference in the way we price and the way we assemble a video or photography project which is based on it’s purpose. Do you need a video to cover an Event or a Promotional Web Video with Visual Effects to launch your company or product? These are the main factors that determine the cost between the two purposes and services.

Your basic Event Video Package with the minimal requirements can average $118 per hour.

A large scale corporate video can even be lower in hourly rates but requires a longer time period to complete. This is because of the initial development process and production demands.

Other factors considered in the logistics of video and photography production that contribute to evaluating cost are: number of cameras, lighting kits, production crew, technicians. In Post-production : visual effects, photo and video manipulation, color correcting sound engineering, music or audio, which all help determine the final cost of the project.

How long does it take to complete a Video Production or Photography Project?


1. Corporate Video, Web Video, Commercial Promotion – 4 – 6 weeks.
2. Event Video 3 – 5 weeks.
3. Commercial Photography 3 – 4 weeks.
4. Event Photography 1 – 2 weeks.

What is the preferred format for a Video Production and Photography?


In house we own a Canon 5D Mark II and operate each shoot with top-quality Canon L-Series lenses, Manfrotto Heads and tripods with related equipment, Lighting Kits, etc.

Our preferred format for Movie recording is full HD at 1920 × 1080p and is consider the industry standard for professional productions. This format provides you with future considerations to output to BluRay and upload to the web. Our editing system utilizes high-end hardware and software making each video production exceed client expectations and deliver high quality stills, visuals and graphics.

Is it possible to re-edit my original Video Production for a new different version years after?


Since we already employ a storage and back up system for our B-Roll and photography stock that is available for sale we also back up and file all media content after your production for record and safe keeping. You will retain all copyrights of the completed project once it is paid for in full and then we sign off on the final cut to your possession.

All projects are in storage for up to four years and you will be billed for this extra service to retrieve the files, output and re-edit.

If I already have video footage can I hire your services to edit the footage?


Of-course. We provide this service and would take the time to work with you on this type of assignment and deliver a final video style to your liking. Should your video format be in PAL or NTSC we are able to convert this format for you as well. Although take notice that this is not a preferred method of reproducing such formats and you can expect a degradation of image quality.

Do you travel for video and photography assignments?


Yes. We invite you to review our blog where you will find some of our projects that have taken place in Western and Eastern Canada and Internationally in South East Asia, Cuba and Eastern Europe.

What Kind of Questions can I prepare for during a Discovery session?


Lets be clear about the Discovery session, there should be no pressure ,this is a meeting not an interrogation and we need to be relaxed to find out the core purpose you wish to achieve with your business. That’s right there will be no water-boarding. You can expect such questions like:

  • Are you looking for a new brand image or a refresh of your current brand?
  • We’ll need to understand what your business is and what you offer to your clients?
  • Do you require a logo or a Website?
  • Name 3 company brands currently in your market that you admire.
  • Who is your target market?
  • Do you have a brand message and if so what is it?

Again, this introduction and process allows us to gather the correct information for research and analysis to put forth solutions with effective strategies and target clear objectives .
